Patient Registration
The accuracy of the demographic data is critical to the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire billing process. It is essential that insurance coverage be identified before services are rendered to the patient. Accurate patient demographic information is the cornerstone to ensure faster reimbursement. Our team is equipped with the knowledge and experience to identify the correct area for which to send claims. With the heath care marketplace changing so rapidly, patients often present themselves to the office with obsolete identification cards. We assist offices in the following ways to reduce and eliminate unnecessary denials:
- Up-to-date patient registration forms
- Copies of insurance identification cards are housed on-site at our facility
- Insurance companies are called to verify claims submission addresses when necessary
- We track employer information, as well as patient and guarantor
- We have the ability to perform either Family or Individual Billing
- We work cooperatively with the office to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Training of office personnel on identification and recognition of the numerous plans and participation for each office
Charge Entry
STAT Medical Consulting, Inc., keys in all charges at our location. Our team is trained and equipped to identify missing or incomplete charge information. We are trained to identify the following:
- Missing or incorrect modifiers
- Misuse of a CPT code
- Missing or incorrect ICD-9 code
- Obsolete or incorrect CPT code
This translates into more accurate billing and claims transmission. This results in increased cash flow.
The number-one problem with claim denials is invalid/inaccurate codes.
Our staff is knowledgeable and able to review charge documents submitted to validate the charges.
Patient Statements and Inquiries
Standard Reports
The Medical Practice Report Card is a tool designed to assist physicians and managers to evaluate their performance in areas that have the greatest impact on the practice’s financial health. The Report Card is also designed as a mechanism to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the practice’s operations. In each area, the practice will get a "grade", and that will be compared to those of similar practices in related specialties. Areas needing improvement will be identified and recommendations will be made on how to achieve these improvements.
